Blandford & Sturminster Hockey Club Achieve National Status

Blandford & Sturminster HC have just achieved the England Hockey Clubs First Accreditation.  Becoming the first club in North Dorset to achieve this highly prestigious honour, they are now recognised nationally as working towards providing a safe, effective and child friendly club environment.

The management committee and coaching team have worked tirelessly over the past 12 months as the club has demonstrated the required standards through written submissions and demonstrations.  The final test was a visit form an England Hockey inspector to a junior training session in March who passed the club with flying colours. 

Club Chairperson Tim Blevins proudly received the award recently where he commented, “I am very pleased to receive this award and acknowledge the hard work that everyone has put in to make it a successful venture.  The award itself is a hallmark of excellence and, increasingly, it is becoming a required standard for any club with ambitions to host tournaments and coaching events or to secure funding for projects.  It is a proud day for our club.”
