Juniors - Club Youth Development Programme Coaching for our junior section takes place at Bryanston Astro Pitch on Thursday evenings:
Ages 7-11 years - 6.30pm-7.15pm Ages 12-16 years - 7.15pm-8.15pm Qualified coaches, ably assisted by other club members and parents, lead all sessions. As a matter of course all coaching staff helping at juniors have been CRB checked. Both sessions will follow the same coaching plan with progressions used suitably for all ages and abilities. During the season the U10 and U12 players have the option to take part in local friendly tournaments that they thoroughly enjoy as they meet juniors from other clubs and put into practise what they have learnt! On Sundays we provide friendly fixtures for the girls age 13 and over, they play alongside more experienced players to improve their individual and team skills. This system has proved extremely successful in their introduction to senior hockey. Sun 27th Nov - U10 & U12 Weymouth Tournament
The U10 and U12 teams were out in force again this weekend for their 3rd tournament of the season. The sun was out but there was a big chill factor down at Redlands Sports Centre in Weymouth!
The junior players, as always, played with enthusiasm and committment and this showed in the results with neither team losing a game! The U10's won 2 and drew 3 with goals from Isaac (2) and Archie (1) and the U12's drew all 6 of their matches with goals from Owen (2).
The coaches thoroughly enjoyed being there and watching how the children have improved and how much they are enjoying themselves! Player of the tournament awards were given to Emily (U8), Alice (U10) and Lara (U12). Well done everyone!
